Hello, TheN82Blog readers! My name is Timi Cantisano and I am a long time mobile user and S60/Nokia fan. My true addiction to mobile phones started fairly early in life with my first mobile phone, the Nokia 5190. Over a long period I experimented and bounced around from different brands and mobile O.S.’s (Motorola’s, I-mate’s, Samsung, etc) But in 2006 while researching I found something that would bring me back to my roots. It was Nokia’s mobile computer, the N95! This mobile device would be released in 2007 and from that moment had me hooked on S60/Nokia. Never in my life did I think I’d see a mobile device that could do so much. Since then I have had the opportunity to pursue my love of Nokia’s/S60/Mobile Devices through my own personal site, Phoneomenon.com and thankfully today I will be able to start writing on a variety of sites hosted by Mike Macias.
I hope that you can find my contributions interesting, enlightening or insightful, and enjoyable to read. I look forward to interacting with a great community as well a wonderful family of writers.

Aaron and myself have been pretty busy lately with our day jobs and it would be great to get some help with reviewing applications and keeping up with the news around the mobile world. Does This Website Need A Forum For N82 Fans?
If I created a forum here at The N82 Blog, would you guys be active? I noticed there aren't any heavily active forums dedicated to solely N82 fans, and with all the new devices coming out and more people leaving the N82 behind - it might be a good time to get a central place for everyone to hang out. What do you think?
This would be a very simple looking forum and will run extremely smooth. The features will be very minimal, and this probably would appeal to many instead of having a kazillion features to use. I won't be posting much in it, only to people who are having a hard time finding an answer. It would be a place for people to find help, post themes, discuss application, and various other topics regarding the N82.

Learn More About This Blog, Aaron, & Mike - Check Out The "About" Page
Hi all. It's hard for me to believe this blog has been going for 9 months already. It's no joke when they say time flies. I've met lots of great people and have read so many great comments. The discussion here is amazing and I have learned so much from you the readers. Thanks so much for all the kind words and great tips.
But what I can't believe even more than how long we've been interacting is that I have just barely put about the "About" page. I mean come on that should have been the first thing I did, right? Well whatever it's up now for all to see - Enjoy!

Exciting Announcement: I Got A New Job As A Point Of Contact For Symbian S60 Ambassadors
If you haven't already heard, I'm so happy to tell all of you that today is my first day at a new job. There was a position posted at the S60 Ambassadors site a few months back, I decided to go for it and this is where I'm at today. I'm now an external contractor for Nokia and work on the S60 Marketing Team. I will be the one of the main points of contact for everyone who signs up for the S60 Ambassadors Program.
What Is S60 Ambassadors?
If you haven't already signed up, S60 Ambassadors is a program that anyone can join. Basically you go out and show friends, family, co-workers, etc. your awesome device and the cool things it can do, then report back to the S60 Ambassador site that persons feedback and your experience. Depending on the rules of the campaign you entered, there are certain rewards for being a S60 Ambassador and contributing your reports. Click here to learn more about Ambassadors.
This is where my job comes in. I, along with a few others on my team, will be reading and moderating those reports and interacting with the Ambassadors. I can't explain to you how excited I am to start my job. There are some great campaigns coming up for S60 Ambassadors so go get signed up and become an Ambassador.
What Does Mike's New Job Mean For This Blog?
Not much. I will still have time to write articles and keep you all up to date with the ongoings of the Nokia community and everything about the Nokia N82. My opinions and critiques that I write here are my own and won't be influenced by my new position. Now that we have Aaron on board as a writer here, the content will only be getting better. So far he's doing a great job and I'm sure many of you agree.

Introducing Aaron - New N82 Blog Writer. Even More Great Articles Coming To The Site
Well I'm trying something new here at The N82 Blog. I'd like to introduce Aaron Homer Vergara as a new author here at the blog. He's going to be adding even more great articles to help N82 owners get there fix and learn everything they need to know about their awesome phones.
Learn A Little About Aaron
Some of you may know him as Gustokonyan, one of the top commenters here at the blog. Check out some of his info:
- I am from the Philippines.

About my nokia experience:
- My first Nokia device is 3315. I really enjoyed it that time, featured picture messages as screen savers, snake, space impact etc. I loved composing ringtones for my friends. I loved fiddling with settings, curious what every option is for and more of why this and that.
- Year 2007 when I bought my nokia 5300. I did not sleep that day when i bought it, I spent the whole night, playing with the phone, trying everything possible and reading the manual. And the following days were all about camera, games and application downloads. I am all over the phone and did not stop hailing the S40 platform until i find some weaknesses and its limitations.
- Just a few months since I bought my beloved Nokia 5300, I became a regular visitor of Nokia.com eyeing for a device that sports a better camera and video capabilities. With the same labeling, Xpressmusic, I fell in love with Nokia 5610, with better memory capacity for my music, battery life, bigger screen and a 3.2mp cam with vga video recording! "Whoa", thats a very nice upgrade.
- Fortunately, before I had enough money for a 5610, I was really into mobile devices and searching for other options from the internet. Thats the time when I was pointed to a blog that is dedicated to mobile devices (gsmarena i think), and from there, i found myself jumping from one blog to another and learned about the very powerful Symbian S60 platform. and to cut the story short, I found the Nokia N82. "What a marvelous all-in-one device". Every article I read was saying "go buy it". Though the price exceeded my budget, all I was thinking is to get my hands on it. And bought one last February. And again, no sleep that night haha.
As you can see Aaron has much passion and knowledge of the Nokia N82 and other Nokia products. This new addition to The N82 Blog will add a new dynamic and side that maybe you haven't seen enough of. This will also free up time for me to pump out even more articles about the N82 and the Nokia community.
I'm extremely excited to show you readers Aaron's first article in a bit and I know many of you will find it interesting.

Blog Update: New Comment System Allows For Threaded Comments & Better Conversation
If you haven't noticed I have implemented a new commenting system here at the blog about 3 weeks ago. Myself and others can now reply to specific comments as threads to keep the conversations interesting and specific. The new system is powered by Disqus. You can make an account with them if you'd like to reap the full benefits. What are those? Reply to comments by email, show all your comments and conversations on your own page, and control all your own comments. Disqus has also been implemented at Symbian In Motion where I got the idea from. Any site that uses Disqus will keep track of all your comments. If you don't want to make an account you don't have to and you can keep posting as a guest.
This new system makes it 10 times easier for me too keep up with everyones comments and questions since I can respond by email from my N82. Can't beat that. I've been getting great conversations here at The N82 Blog so if you haven't joined in the discussion, what are you waiting for? Your comments are what keeps this blog going!

This Blog Just Past 2 Months In Existence ... Thanks To All Readers
I can't believe this blog has only been around for 2 months and 2 days. Thanks to all you everyday readers for coming back and leaving comments all the time. The comments that are left on articles are what make me want to keep writing and keep this site going - so keep the comments coming. I hope your enjoying all the applications, themes, tips, news, and everything else pertaining to your N82.
It's amazing that we have already reached over 275 subscribers, actually it tipped 300 today and we're getting over 1200 visitors a day. If you haven't already subscribed do so with the orange button at the top right column. You'll be fed instant updates of the news and if you'd like to have articles sent to your email you can subscribe to email as well. I'm currently working on an article about reading RSS feeds like the orange button here that allow you to check out the simplified version of the article when your on the run with your Nokia N82.

About The Nokia N82 Blog
Want to know more about The N82 Blog? Who started it and who writes here? Check it out...
The Nokia N82 Blog was created in February 2008 with the intent to bring a joyous and useful experience to Nokia N82 users all over the world. Since it's meager beginnings up to now (November 2008) this blog has generated over hundreds articles and hundreds of dedicated RSS feed readers - not to mention about 1,500 unique visitors a day eager to become one with their device. The Nokia N82 is still the best cameraphone to date - even after being out for over a year.

I'm 24 years old and I live in sunny Southern California with my beautiful girlfriend and her amazingly large cat. I absolutely love it here besides the crime, traffic, earthquakes, celebrities, etc. Other than all that it's a great place to live. Where else can you go to the beach and surf then drive to the snow and ski all in the same day? Hmmm not sure.
Interests? I love hockey GO KINGS!!!, beer, music, & of course cells phones...
My Nokia/Symbian Story Thus Far
Nokia... ahh yes my N82. I bought my first S60 device a little over a year ago, I believe it was around July 2007. Before that I had never tried a smartphone but I was so intrigued by some of the reviews I was reading all over the internet. This led me to buy the Nokia N73. What a trusty little device. It looked so simple on the outside but sure did pack a punch on the inside. Not mention the camera was probably the most advance on the cell phone market besides the N95. Reading other sites like Symbian-Guru, All About Symbian, and Symbian In Motion inspired me to create my own blog. That's when I started Symbian-Addict. Then in about January I picked up the Nokia N82 and was blown away. That's when I decided to start this blog dedicated to N82 users and fans.
This site you're currently reading and Symbian-Addict.com has opened many doors for me and introduced me to some really great people around the world, a few of whom I've become close friends with. A huge door that opened was a chance to work for Nokia as an Ambassador Relations Specialist in the Symbian S60 Marketing department. I'm currently still working for them and absolutely loving the job. Consider this your full disclosure lol. If you're a S60 Ambassador more than likely I've read and moderated the reports that you sent in, and have probably contacted some of you via email.
What Else I Do...
I also work as a part time longshoreman at the Ports of LA/Long Beach AND also work part time for Anheuser-Busch - that's right BUDWEISER in the Print & Graphics department. Between the jobs and the blogs I keep super busy!
Lastly, I am a website owner, designer, and graphics designer. Websites: Nokia E71 Fanatics, Symbian Addict, and CaliAlive.com (california music website).
Free time? Watch hockey, play NHL 08 on my Playstation 3, kick it with the girlfriend and pals, eat lots of mexican food. I love hilariously stupid funny movies like Beerfest, Big Daddy, Grandma's Boy, Anchorman, Knocked Up, etc. and epic movies such as Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Platoon, Lord Of The Rings, Fargo, Sin City, V For Vendetta, anything with Tom Hanks, and the list goes on and on.
Recently I got an email from a huge N82 fan named Aaron asking if he can contribute some articles to the blog. Since then Aaron has written about 2 articles a week that get extremely high popularity and user interaction. He is now a full time writer for this site, which leads me to his bio...

Just a regular guy, 22 years old, from the Philippines. Currently, I’m a Computer Programmer and Analyst on an offshore software company here in Batangas.
I had early interest on electronic devices since I was 6 (if I remember it correctly). That time, I was into digital watches (setting date and time, alarms was really fun ^^) and brick games, lol. Then came cartridge games (family computer), nintendo stuffs (game boy) etc. To cut the story short, I was really into gaming. Still a gamer today but not that much (I think). I am currently hooked on online and network games (DOTA! Rules). Thankfully, I’ve never thought of spending hard cash on PlayStation, xbox and other gaming consoles, though I know how cool games can get there.
School days were fun. I hate geography though. Loved computer subjects in contrast. I also enjoyed musical instruments; guitar, flute, piano etc.
The first mobile device that made my eyes go green is the Nokia 5110. I was in high school, it was my classmate’s. Cool she was then when she raises her phone to get better signal reception, but now, do that and look absurd ^^. Snake was indeed an addicting game.
I was in college, freshman, when I had my own phone, the Nokia 3315. After 3 years with this sturdy device (oh god, feels like forever), I can never be happier when I bought the Nokia 5300. That’s the first buy I did when I got my first job as an IT Instructor. Certainly a great phone it is. I did not sleep that day when I bought it, I spent the whole night, playing with the phone, trying everything possible and reading the manual. And the following days were all about camera, games and application downloads. I am all over the phone and did not stop hailing the s40 platform until I find some weaknesses and its limitations.
Just a few months after, I found myself in search for a phone that sports a better camera and video capabilities. I learned about s60, and before Christmas of 2007, I met and fell in love (deeply) with the Nokia N82. Though the price exceeded my budget (for a Nokia 5610, which I originally planned to buy), all I was thinking was to get my hands on this superb device.
Now I can’t imagine myself without my N82. Thanks to Mike, who gave me the chance to share my experiences with the phone thru his blog.

Back From A Short Vacation
Well I just got back from a short 3 day vacation in Big Bear, CA. It was actually a great time, had lots of fun, food, and booze. Weather was great. Snowed at night, sunny in the day. You can't ask for more. I haven't been able to update the site, but I'll have a post with a handful of goodies from the Nokia world. Nothing big, just some rambling and more tips. Hope your all well.

What Kind Of Nokia N82 User Are You?
I'm interested to see what kind of N82 users read this blog daily, or just check back every now and than. I'm also interested to see what "new" readers consider themselves as well, readers who just found this site via a search engine. Reason being is I want to know if I have a lot of new Nokia or Symbian S60 users. I'm curious to know because I want to see if I should make more posts that have to do with the basic functions of the Nokia N82. Of course I'm going to keep posting about all the cool stuff that the Symbian S60 world brings us, whether it be basic or advanced.

Welcome To The Nokia N82 Blog
This is my first post here at the Nokia N82 Blog. This site will be dedicated to the Nokia N82 Smartphone. Here you will find applications, reviews, themes, news, and features for the Nokia N82. In the near future I'll be posting a guide on signing applications for those that are not Symbian signed.
If you don't know, I also write at The Symbian Addict, a blog dedicated to all Symbian & Nokia smartphone news. You will find some articles posted here about the Nokia N82 also at The Symbian Addict.
A little about me: I'm 23 years old from Southern California. I love music (prefer hardcore, metal, & rock), hockey (I'm a huge LA Kings fan), good movies, and of course Nokia smartphones. I work as a longshoreman unloading container ships at the Port Of LA & Long Beach, and also work for Anheuser Busch (Budweiser) in the Graphics & Marketing Department making posters and banners going up in bars and liquor stores all over the South Bay.
