Large Music Library? Find Your Tunes Faster With These Tips

I'm a big music lover and my N82 serves as my dedicated MP3 player when on the go. I use it in my car, at work, while jogging, and in the house plugged into my surround sound. The 8gb microSD card I recently bought is nearly full, holding about 1,100 songs. I absolutely love that most of my tunes are with me everywhere I go. And with my new 16gb microSD card on the way from Amazon.com (xmas gift from my girlfriend), the library will only grow!

However digging through all these songs to find what you're looking for can be tedious. But thanks to some of these shortcuts I'll show you below, the process of finding what you're looking for is much easier.

Scrolling Through The Music List - FAST!

See the word "fast" under the Artists title at the top of the screen? It's scrolling at a much faster speed than normal. How does this work? While holding the up or down d-pad button for scrolling, quickly let it go and push down again without letting go. The scrolling will be a lot faster, and that "fast" notice will show up like mine.

Type The Name Of What You Want To Hear

Just like in the Contacts application, you can also type what you're looking for in the Music library. In the screenshot above I typed "r" and it took me to the artists that start with R. Personally I would've like the ability to enable T9 searching through the N82 music library, but we're stuck with standard input instead.

Hopefully these tips can help some of you that have a huge collection of music on your S60 device. If you're looking to increase your memory, Amazon is having some great deals right now. The SanDisk 8GB microSDHC Cardis on sale for under $20, and a Sandisk 16GB microSDHC is currently going for under $60. I'm not sure if those are Class 2 or Class 4 cards, but I currently have a Class 2 8gb card and have noticed no slowdowns or problems.

I'll let you know how my new 16gb card works out when I pop into my phone later this week. If you have any other tips for the N82 music player feel free to share them.
