I Got Some New Toys For My N82 - Here's A Preview

Wow-Wee I feel like it's Christmas in August. Two new accessories for my precious Nokia N82 came in the mail this week. One will be a great tool to get more blogging done for everyone here (so it's like a gift for you too), and the other will make sure that my N82 stays safe and secure if I drop it.

What N82 accessories am I talking about?

Well the first one is the iGo Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard that folds up into a nice little package and even came with a leather case. The second is a leather case for my N82 made by Trinity. I know many of you have been dying to see a review of the N82 Trinity Case, so I will be bringing it to you in the days ahead.

Photobucket

For now I just wanted to tease you with some pictures of the iGo Bluetooth Keyboard. I haven't even got a chance to play with it yet as I've been really busy between blogging and working two jobs. Tomorrow I should have plenty of time get these reviews done, as today I'm taking my N82 bowling and to the Dodgers game.

Check out these initial pictures of the iGo Stowaway Keyboard for my Nokia N82... (flash gallery may not be visible in some RSS readers)

If you want to see the pictures bigger you can just click on one and it will take you to the Share On Ovi gallery. You'll also notice that the phone sitting on the keyboard is not the N82, but instead the N73. I had to take these with my N82 cuz thats the only decent camera I have. I'll be posting some good pictures of the N82 sitting on my new bluetooth keyboard when I post my full review.

Do any of you have any experience with either of these N82 accessories? If so post your thoughts below and we can get this discussion going.

I can't wait to try out the bluetooth keyboard!

I've got the iGo keyboard, which I can use with my N95 or N810. I did have trouble getting it connected to the N95, but Gersbo has a great tutorial that got me going. Here's the link : http://www.gersbo.dk/2007/12/using-a-dell-stowaway-bluetooth-keyboard-with-nokia-n95.html

Let us know how it works out!

I have the same keyboard, it worked fine on my old N95, but if I use the same drivers for the N82, I get "system error" everytime I resart the phone. Let us know what drivers you use for it.

when you post the review of the case ive got a few things im curious about, what things are accessible around the phone? to me it seems like lots of headphone jack, card slot etc will be covered up so i would like to know if that's the case, also is there a hole to let the microphone be heard. Is the front plastic 1 piece meaning ou press the button through the plastic or is it just the screen thats protected by the plastic.

Ive been meaning to buy the case, so your review will answer my questions hopefully.

I was going to purchase the Trin but the Krusell case seemed superior. For example check out-- http://xmangerm.vox.com/library/post/krusell-case-for-my-new-nokia-n82.html

I just purchased a case at Noreve and I love it. It covers the whole phone leaving you access to all ports and camera. Check it out at http://www.noreveusa.com/brand/Nokia/product/Nokia_N82_Tradition_leather_case.html

I have both cases, Trinity and Krusell. IMHO the Trnity case is much better quality.

The whole front side is protected with the clear plastic foil. You press the button through the plastic foil. This working fine.

I also have the same keyboard. Works well. I just downloaded the drivers for Stowaway website here: http://corporate.igo.com/support/Drivers.asp?ManufacturerID=22&ModelID=485. Used N73 drivers and works well.

Has iGo stopped producing bluetooth keyboards?

Seems like http://corporate.igo.com/ only products is power adapters, the only reference to the Stowaway is in support.

Congrats on getting the iGo keyboard - I think you will enjoy it.

I have both an iGo and a Nokia SU-8W keyboard. Although the SU-8W had special keys duplicating phone keys, I find the iGo to be the best keyboard. The keys are very close (in terms of size and space) to those of a laptop keyboard.

In comparison, the SU-8W keys seem somewhat "smurf-like".

I love my Stowaway. I like to take lots of notes when I travel and it basically turns my phone into a laptop. The downside, being bluetooth, I can't use it on the plane
