Is your Nokia N82 becoming too cluttered? Are you having weird problems that you didn't have when you first got your N82 beauty?
You can try to do a hard reset to restore it back to factory settings. All your contacts, messages, calls, applications, themes > everything will be gone. So BEWARE. Backup your important stuff first. Your memory card will be fine, so anything there will be saved. However, if you have applications installed on the memory card, I recommend deleted those as well.
I always tell people to install applications and themes on the phone memory always! Your phone will run faster, as will the applications. Leave the memory card for your media.
Anyways, to perform a hard reset on the Nokia N82 you do this.
- Type *#7370# from the standby screen while your phone is one
- It will ask for the lock code which is 12345 unless you have previously changed it. Make sure you do this right, because if you do it too many times the wrong way you can lock up your phone.
- And that's it. Have fun re-installing all of your applications and themes.

Thank you very much for this info - Why Nokia couldn't provide it I really don't know. Now to see if I can find out how to sync a big outlook contacts list (8,000 contacts) without locking up the whole phone (the reason I needed the hard reset in the first place!)
GRRRRRRRR this is like the 20th time i've had to do this. It keeps loosing my pictures and maps. Now my wifi is intermittant. I bought this for travelling. Meh what a hunk of crap. I should have kept my iphone.

Hi, suddenly some applications won't work on my phone. Like gmail and Burnout(the game). I had installed them on my memory card. The screw up is they don't uninstall or can be removed. Is there anyway to just clean them out using the USB data transfer mode?

I did a hard reset on my N82 but I forgot to remove my memory card, after the reset it now asks a memory card password.
I have never set a password for my memory card, what happened and what can I do?

help needed, urgently. i did the hard reset on my n82 like you mentioned, and it started back ok, but now it wont go into messaging or gallery. when i try it keeps saying messaging or gallery already in use. n it keeps displaying the same msg over n over until i restart the phone. the browser is working ok, so is the music player n its making calls n all. but it wont do the above. help!!!
Hi, actually the "*7370# is to reset the phone to factory settings, and not a fully hard reset as you said, (like the "*7780* is for a soft reset [original settings]). To do a fully hard reset you must switch off your N82, and then do the following combination:
1. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
2. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
3. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
It may take a few attempts and very flexible fingers.
I recently did this to my N82, and he "flies" arround all type of menus.
It´s even better now, than when i bought it.
And of course, all you have in your phone memory, will be lost.

i cleaned my n82 and after that, every time i started it, it blinks a few times, the screen went white and that, the darn thing restarts about 2 times and then it turns off..

After Spending 4 Night on the Net I bought my N 82 Black...
Being an avid software user on the Phone I loaded, many of them I don't even recall which all..for that purpose I needed the 128 MB ram, where I used to get the out of memory for the old N80.
Suddenly I realized once, that my phone had slowed down and while killing some applications, it hanged. I switched it off and restarted, alas, all the stuff on my memory card is gone.

Then I got a new one with a 4 GB and higher speed one with 6 HC , reinstalled my required items but again the same problem and this time almost every thing is gone ,, The memory shows data is being used but not accessible.
I did a factory reset through the menu also
Any suggestion ...?

My phone is stuck (probably software problem), some keys don't work, including green answer button and "0", so none of the hard reset options mentioned here are available for me. Tried to use Nokia Software Updater, it did updated the firmware, but the problem remained. Any suggestions? Is there a way to to a hard reset using connected PC? Thanks!

heyy my n82 has been a pain since i first got it. when i recieve text messages, the time on the message details shows up around 4 hours earlier instead of my real time. i just hard reseted the phone but its still doing the same time. whats wrong with it?

My N82 keeps dropping all its charge in a matter of minutes. Had the same problem a few months ago and took it to technician to be reset and updated - problem solved but now its back again :( Just tried factory settings restore and recharging phone now. Do you think this will work?
I reset my phone using the code *#7370# . The phone said that it had to restart and the screen went white for about 3 minutes. But then the screen went black and i left the phone like this for about 30 minutes. When i came back it was still balck, so i decided to kill it by taking out the battery. Is my phone dead now?
