Audio Connection Problems Arising On The N82 - Do You Experience This?

Well I personally have experienced this problem once. It seems as though others are seeing it a lot more often. When connecting headphones to the N82, it sometimes freezes up or reboots itself. Now the question is, can this be a hardware problem or a firmware problem. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a firmware problem. If thats the case, Nokia needs to make sure it's taken care of in the next N82 firmware update. On the other hand, if it is a hardware problem then you would have to go through the hassle of using your warranty and sending it to Nokia to get fixed. Lets hope it's the first problem.

A user over at Howard Forums is reporting that this happens to him about once every fifteen times he connects. Those stats are horrible. If in fact it really is that consistent, it seems as though its a bug in the firmware that needs to be addressed. I also just check out EverythingN82.com forums, and another user is seeing the same problem. You can head over to those forums to join the discussion if your seeing those problems.

Oh and before I hit the publish article button I have one more thing to rant about. And this I know Nokia can fix via firmware update. What happens when your listening to music on your N82 and the cord accidentally comes out or the bluetooth gets disconnected? The music should pause right? Wrong! It starts blasting through the stereo speakers on the phone. How annoying is that while in the office, library, classroom (you should be paying attention anyway), bus, etc etc. The music doesn't stop, it just keeps playing through the loudspeakers. Especially when your blasting your metal jams like God Forbid or Shai Hulud like I usually am. Then you have to fumble around trying to mute the phone or pause the music, looking like a dummy. Nokia, please add a simple little fix that pauses the music when the cord gets unplugged or the bluetooth connection is lost.

Have you experienced any problems similar to these? Leave your comments below so hopefully Nokia will hear our calls!

Same here with wired headsets. I updated my firmware yesterday. It hanged and restarted, 2 times already since the update, but nw, because of the usb cable. So far, no restarting caused by the headset yet.

My 2 year old Sony phone gives you a prompt asking if you want to continue playback through speakers after unplugging a headset... Why can't any of the brand new Nokia models!

@aditya raj - i bought the N82 black a month back from mobile store for INR 19,600. It's still pretty steep! I was going to wait for the new N-phones to come out so that the price could decrease but then i gave up.

I would suggest buy the phone around end-October or so. Maybe you can squeeze a Diwali discount out from the dealer. Oh, and don't forget to check that the box has October 2008 or later printed on it cause those will be the phones with v30 firmware updated (hopefully) so you won't have to bother with NSU
