I've been meaning to show you this post for awhile now, but just kept forgetting. Mark Guim from The Nokia Blog wrote a review about the ProClip Car Mount Kit for the Nokia N82 and N95 8gb. As you can see in the picture the car mount holds the N82 tight and securely so you it doesn't go flying around in your car while driving.
I personally don't have this car mount kit for my N82 but after seeing Mark's review I am really tempted to buy one. Having your phone so easily accessible in your car will allow you to use your phone as a music player, car navigation guide, and of course communication center. Plug your phone into your car's 3.5mm jack and your jams will sound great through the car speakers.
Click here to head over read Mark's full review of the ProClip Car Mount Kit for the Nokia N82. Let me know if you use any other car mounts for your smart phone so I can check it out.
I need one that works like the ipod PodGear In Car Holder/charger.

Please let me know if you come across something like that for the n82. It works slick since you don't need to install anything or any wierd clips. just plug it into your cigarette lighter and attach your device. it will charge your device at the same time with no dangling wires.
That would be a great solution. I'll keep my eyes open to see if I can find that.

ReplyDeleteI knew the N82 was an advanced device, but I didn't know it could actually drive. :)
(Sorry, couldn't resist...)
I bought this because it is inexpensive (6 euros).

There are three ways of install it: screws, adhesive pad and fastening bow for the ventilation grid. I have only used with ventilation grid and it is not very robust, but very easy to install.
haha 2 comments above... you haven't seen the new application that drives your car for you??? you gotta get it.
ReplyDeleteI also have a Proclip - the active charger version.
ReplyDeleteThe quality is awesome, worth every penny.
Hi, greetings from Mexico!
ReplyDeleteI personally use my N82 as my personal music player while driving (I used to have an USB memory with 2 Gb of music on it, but it wasn't getting recongized by my car's stereo) connected via an auxiliar cable with the 3.3 mm plug.
I got myself a "Mobo" phone holder that was designed to attach directly in the windshield, but I though it would be too showy (I live in Mexico City, yow know, not the safest place on earth...) but it also has a clip accesory to mount it on the air vents.
It works just fine and it also enables me to plug it to my car's 12 V output to charge it when necesary. I also wrapped my handsfree headset (just the remote) so I can skip tracks whenever I want. You should try It! By the way, I have a Volkswagen Pointer and the air vents are not appropriate for this holder, but I figured it out so it hangs just by my stereo (betwwen the 12 v output and the stereo itself) by removilg a little piece of plastic that covers a little square just next to the side indicators lights switch.
It's not the steadiest holder around but it works really fine for me. (Iphone model is also available I think).
By the way, I got it for around 12 bucks (150 mexican pesos) and it fits even a sony PSP. Nice huh?
